Our lovely church will be open on both Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th September as part of Heritage Weekend, a national initiative which aims to celebrate all aspects of local history. If you could spare an hour to be a steward on one of the days, please contact Bernice Rust or Carole Newland. Meanwhile, on Saturday 11th, children are invited to take part in an arts and crafts session in the church hall from 2-4pm. Refreshments provided - more information from Carole. |

The School of Prayer events at St Nicolas, Guildford, are always extremely popular. The next event will run on Wednesday 13th October at 8pm and the theme will be "John Henry Newman - a saintly guide for prayer today". Children of Byfleet - do you fancy being a chorister for an afternoon? On Saturday 25th September, from 2pm, boys aged from 6-8 and girls from 9-11 are invited to Guildford Cathedral for a few hours of music, singing and games. You will also sing a service with the Cathedral Choir and all participants will receive a certificate signed by the Dean. Fee - £5 per child (all children must be accompanied by an adult). The Bishop of Guildford has extended an invitation to carers and friends to visit the Cathedral on Thursday 7th October for tea at 3.30pm. This will be followed by a short talk by Janet Haynes, Head of Carer Involvement for the NHS Trust, and a dedicated evensong to give thanks for all that carers do. There will be a special prayer day at St John's Church, Windlesham, on Saturday 25th September from 9.30am to 4pm, featuring a wide choice of workshops. Contact Anne Haring or Sally Hodson if you would like more information of if you would like to attend. There is an attendance fee of £5. |
